The Harlem Teen Poetry Slam is for youth poets of all experience levels, ages 12 to 17, who live in OR and attend school in New York City.
Teen poets sign up to participate in the Qualifying Round on Thursday, August 17th at 6:30 PM at the Martin Luther King Towers Community Center (2 West 115th Street). 10 poets will be selected to participate in a poetry workshop on August 12th and compete in the finals on HARLEM DAY (August 20th) for family, friends, and 5 judges including the New York State Youth Poet Laureate, Stephanie Pacheco. 3 teen poets will win cash prizes.
If you have young people that you would like to sign up to participate, let us know and we’ll gladly get them registered.
