Meet Virginia…
when Mount Morris Talks! on Thursday, March 8.

C Virginia FieldsThat’s The Honorable C. Virginia Fields we’re talking about. Former Manhattan Borough President. First African-American woman to seek the office of mayor of New York City. Native of Birmingham, Alabama and longtime NYC resident. President and CEO of the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS (NBLCA). Consensus-builder. Humanitarian. Activist.

She’s marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. She’s energized the efforts behind the second Harlem renaissance. And she’s fought to raise domestic and international awareness around HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care – a cause she continues to champion, from grass roots initiatives to public policy achievements.

Black Commission on AIDS logoC. Virginia Fields is a formidable presence, a source of inspiration and our neighbor here in Harlem.

Join us at 6:30 PM, Thursday, March 8, in the Harlem Branch Library Community Room, 9 W 124 Street, for Mount Morris Talks and you’ll meet Virginia!
